The Power of Opt-in Email

Published on July 21, 2009 by in Opt List

Whether you want to stay in touch with your current customers or new prospects who visit your blog, an opt-in email marketing is the perfect solution to serve these purposes. Opt-in email is a term used for promotional emails that have been requested by people receiving them. What makes opt in email differ from the spam -also known as unsolicited bulk email- is the sender should obtain permission from the people receiving his information.

Perhaps you will say that your blog attracts hundreds or even thousands of visitors every day so you don’t see the needs of utilizing this opt-in email but the truth is all the internet marketing big players create money with their lists. That’s why you always hear some gurus religiously saying the same common refrain: “the money is in the list, the money is in the list, the money is in the list…”

And what happen if Google dances and out of the blue your blog is nowhere found on the big G pages anymore? There goes your business forever because if nobody can see your blog or website the chance is you need to either start from all over again which takes time because organic traffic develops slowly, or you buy traffic from Google which is also prone to the famous Google Slap. Such problem can be prevented easily if you know the beauty of list building. Start collecting your visitors’ emails by offering them something useful. To start building your list you can join an Autoresponder company, i.e Aweber, GetResponse or one of their private labels. It will cost you less than 20 bucks per month with the start up package but believe me it is worth paying.

Serious bloggers don’t want to lose their visitors or prospects because they know the importance of them. Doesn’t matter whether you are actively promoting products as an affiliate or you rely solely on the Google Adsense, you need these visitors to come and click on your affiliate links or on your Adsense links. But traffic doesn’t necessarily means conversion. You can get a lot of traffic but nobody clicks on your money links. Yes,this is very normal. The success rate in internet marketing world is said to be 1% only so you have to follow what the 1% guys do. With list building you have your own market and instead of waiting for traffic and clicks you just send your emails with your promotion links embedded to all the people in your list, all at a single mouse click.

If you are not familiar with the idea behind this post you can get a copy of what Alex Jeffreys told me about list building here. He is my mentor and you can learn some pretty good information from this free report.

To Your Online Success,

  1. Good thing found at your blog about email marketing! Welldone! You have placed a good information on your blog. But, I want to talk something more about email marketing. Actually, it is not too easy as it seems. Most of the people are under misconception that collecting email IDs and using a bulk email sender can make you successful. But it is not. What do you think? Actually, most of the businesses these days are not selling one product. They are selling different products for diff. niches and for the different markets. So, in this case they should have the different lists of bulk email IDs. Email Marketing is being difficult in these days. But still experiments are being done by a lot of people and companies. I usually keep on trying the products of the different companies. Now a days, some wonderful products are coming in the market that can give you great earning opportunities. I do not want my comment considered as spam here so will not discuss about my blog, but if you visit my blog then you will find, how I am using different products for my email marketing these days and making a lot Really! When I found your blog about email marketing, It was great one and I could not stop myself writing comment? But, last thing, I want to ask, Do you offer newsletter to your visitors or not? Do you know any kind of program to make effective newsletter? Waiting for reply – Thanks – Regards

    Hi Payal,

thanks for visiting my blog. I agree with you, email marketing may or may not work depending on the people who use it. I’ve seen some great people made a good living because they were different, sincere and they gave value to the people joining their lists. I bought product they offered because I trusted them. Others don’t care and just keep on spamming their lists. Some big names out there also use this method but I just delete their emails without reading them because they just recommend products they don’t even use or at least try.

As for the newsletter it’s already planned but for the time being I’m concentrating more on building this blog first. Internet marketing – including list building, email marketing, etc. – is a tough niche to beat and I want to see how good I can position this blog.

Wishing you the best with your online business.

    Rudi
